Rajasthan Roadways- A ray of hope during the lockdown

 

This year, when the world was hit by the global pandemic, The lockdown situation in India made the citizens stranded and in a panic situation leaving a helpless scenario amidst the pandemic for a common man.

The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has proved to be a savior for lakhs of people stranded in various parts of the State during the lockdown. 

Thousands of migrant and daily wage workers were left stranded on the roads, unable to head home due to a sudden lack of transportation services during the lockdown. A large number of students from different states were stuck in Kota and many other people from migrant laborers, employees in metro cities to families states apart. Rajasthan Roadways ensured that its residents from states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra and Gujarat would reach home without a long walk. The buses were well sanitized for the purpose. Depots were told to keep sanitized buses ready for movement at all times.

The roadways buses during the period of lockdown have ferried more than 4.03 lakh people including migrant labourers, non-resident labourers, students and others who were stuck in various places within Rajasthan and to other States.

Shramik Special buses were started to ferry the migrant labourers to their States. 

A Special Free Bus ‘Moksh Kalash’ was also started for people who lost their family members in the lockdown and could not immerse their ashes in holy Ganga River at Haridwar. RSRTC also helped the International passengers to reach to their desired destination from the Airport. Not only that, RSRTC also helped in transporting the COVID-19 patients to hospitals and medical facilities.

 

Rajasthan Roadways is just not a mode of transportation but beyond. It not only connects the cities and states but also hearts of common people by playing a crucial role in their lives. We strive to do better every time and assure our passengers with the most comfortable and safe journey. RSRTC will always be the ray of hope before or after the pandemic for its passengers.
