SAFETY COMES BEFORE TRAVEL
In today’s city life travel and transport plays an important role, it could be for work, school or for recreation. Everyone has different travel patterns and needs.
Today we
talk about children and elderly people. As children and elderly have special
needs, it is important to look into their needs. Children tend to use more
public mode of transport to go to school than any other form. Elderly due to
lack of escort use the public transport. Travelling in the bus could be risky, complicated
or enjoyable.While travelling you not only reach your destination but you also
learn a lot from the fellow passengers.But like other aspect of life, it also
should be taken with a lot of precautions, so let’s keep few things in mind and
make our travel safe:
1.
Before boarding the bus,one must have a clear route plan.
2.
At the bus stop wait at least a step back from the edge of
the road and step forward only once the bus arrives and stops. Do not be in a
rush, as an independent traveler be safe.
3.
Read the bus destination or the bus number carefully before
climbing on to the bus.
4.
Avoid crowded buses, wait for the next and to do that arrive
at the bus stop keeping time in mind.
5.
Let the people get down first before trying to squeeze or
wrestle between them to climb in to the bus.
6.
Try to choose a low floor bus whenever possible as it would
be convenient to climb.
7.
Try to keep physical distance from other passengers while
climbing the bus.
8.
Always hold the bar near the gate of the bus to give you
support while climbing in.
9.
Climb one step at a time.
10. These a day’s everybody carries a mobile to be
in touch with someone who cares, do not hold your mobile in hand while getting
in the bus it may fall, so always keep it in your bag or in your pocket. Beware
of pick pocketers.
11. The bag you are carrying should always be in
front of you while climbing the steps of the bus as the weight of the bag can
disbalance you on the steps.
12. Once in the bus always keep the bag between
your legs standing or sitting that gives you two free hands.
13. Children and elderly may not be able to reach
the hangers hanging from the ceiling of the bus, stand next to the seat so that
you can hold the head bars of the seat or the sturdy rod to support you on
jerks, speed and turns.
14. Try not to talk to strangers but be polite.
15. Don’t use headphones to disconnect yourself
from the real world or use music as a barrier, you will not be able to hear the
announcement on the busand you may overshoot your stop.
16. Do not sit in the backseat, not only toavoid
the harmful emission ofsmoke but also to makeit easy to get down, so sit near
the exit.
17. Never touch any unattended bags and baggage.
18. While sitting in a bus always hold on to a rail
or the seat in front, so as to be secure and not fall on turns.
19. Don’t keep your fare in hand in advance before
climbing the bus, sit and then take out the money.
