RSRTC- MAKING TRAVEL SAFE AND SECURE FOR WOMEN

 

With a constant hike in the number of travelers in recent times, a huge number of people who move in and around the state of Rajasthan rely on Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) buses to carry out their travels. RSRTC aims to cater to the needs of each and every individual and provide the best possible environment for passengers. In the post-covid era, Rajasthan Roadways has adopted special measures to counter the virus, like regular sanitation, extra emphasis on cleanliness, etc.

 

Safety of women travelers, the number of which has boosted over the years, has been the main objective for the organization. Thousands of women avail bus services in Rajasthan every day for transit and tourism purposes. Facilities like clean drinking water, clean toilets, food, women reserved seats, concessions etc. are provided at Rajasthan Roadways bus stands. Here are few recommended tips for women during traveling for a hassle- free journey. 

 

Make bookings in advance- Make stay and transport bookings at least a couple days before the day of travel. Bookings can be made online at Rajasthan Roadways website also. This will prevent unwanted situations to rise at the last moment.

 

While standing, keep your bag on the front -Although RSRTC reserves seats for ladies in all buses, if you are standing in a crowded bus, always keep your bag in front and not on the back. It prevents theft.

 

Don’t be afraid to shout for help- There should be no hesitation to shout for help, in case you feel threatened. Rajasthan Roadways staff is always present at bus stands while boarding and getting off. 

 

Share details of the journey with someone- Traveling alone can be made a lot safer by just sharing journey details with a known person. You can share the bus number, destination and time with a friend or family.

 

Keep emergency services on speed dial- RSRTC buses have emergency numbers written inside. Despite that, it’s wise to keep these numbers on speed dial.

 

Perpetual efforts by Rajasthan Roadways have made it possible for women to travel safely, and without fear. While these efforts prove to be very helpful in making traveling easy for women, one should always keep these tips, and their own safety in mind.
